While clashes between Israel and Iran have intensified once again, reports of explosions have come from many cities in Iran. An explosion sound was heard at Shiraz Airport, and it was announced that a hostile drone was shot down over Tehran. Following Israel's attacks on Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Karaj, Iran launched retaliation. As Netanyahu convened his security cabinet, the Houthis also closed the Red Sea to Israeli ships.

As ceasefire hopes in the Middle East are completely off the table, mutual attacks between Israel and Iran have brought the region to the brink of war again. Breaking news throughout the day revealed that the clashes were not limited to military targets and spread to different regions of Iran.

Following Israel's attacks this morning targeting Iran's cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz and Karaj, reports of successive explosions came from Iran.

EXPLOSION AT SHIRAZ AIRPORT

Iran-based Didban news site reported that an explosion was heard at Shiraz Airport in the south of the country. It was reported that all flights at the airport were cancelled until 20:00 local time before the explosion.

While no official statement has been made yet regarding the cause of the explosion, statements from Iranian officials are awaited.

UAV SHOT DOWN OVER TEHRAN

Iranian state media announced that an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the skies over Tehran. While the report did not specify which country the UAV belonged to, the incident drew attention as it occurred amid the conflicts with Israel.

It was stated that Iranian air defense systems were on alert at many points throughout the day.

EXPLOSIONS SPREAD TO THE CAPITAL

Iranian media reported that explosion sounds were also heard in the regions of Eslamshahr, Malard, Kahrizak and Bagher Shahr near Tehran, as well as in Karaj and Isfahan.

The activity, especially around the capital, strengthened claims that Israel had launched new attacks or that Iranian air defense systems were actively operating.

IRAN'S RETALIATION WAS NOT DELAYED

Following the Israeli attacks, Iran's Revolutionary Guards also announced that they had carried out new missile operations against Israel. The statement indicated that the Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases were targeted.

Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei also targeted Israel in a statement made during the day, saying, "The shaky Zionist regime has only a few days left to breathe."

NETANYAHU CONVENED THE SECURITY CABINET

Following the developments, it was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his security cabinet with an extraordinary agenda. Israeli media wrote that Iran's latest attacks and new military options were among the main agenda items of the meeting.

Meanwhile, Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen also announced that they had launched a missile attack on Israel, while declaring a complete navigation ban on Israeli ships in the Red Sea.

WAR FEARS GROW IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Israel's attacks targeting four Iranian cities, Iran's retaliations, the explosion at Shiraz Airport, the UAV incident over Tehran, and the Houthis' involvement have increased concerns that the tension in the region may not remain limited to just two countries.

Experts note that if the conflicts expand, the Middle East could face one of the largest regional security crises in recent years.
