WISHED SUCCESS IN HIS NEW ROLE
According to information obtained from sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Hakan Fidan conveyed his congratulations to Khalil al-Hayya, newly elected as head of Hamas's Political Bureau, and wished him success in his role.
Taking the floor in the meeting, al-Hayya provided information on the humanitarian tragedy and the latest situation in Gaza and the West Bank, drawing attention to the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu government's increasing illegal settlement activities and attacks on holy sites in Jerusalem. Stating that Hamas maintains its constructive stance in peace negotiations, al-Hayya also shared details about the reconciliation process among Palestinian groups.
"TÜRKİYE WILL CONTINUE SUPPORT ON EVERY PLATFORM"
Minister Fidan, on the other hand, reiterated that Türkiye will continue to defend the just cause of the Palestinians most strongly in every field and on every international platform.
Stating that Türkiye exerts intense effort to keep the crimes committed by the Netanyahu government in Gaza and the West Bank and its violations against holy sites on the world agenda, Fidan expressed that all means are mobilized to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Emphasizing that Türkiye will continue to support the peace process, Minister Fidan noted that they appreciate the role Hamas undertakes in this process.
During the meeting, other critical issues concerning the region were also put on the table.
