Ahmet Davutoğlu, leader of the Future Party, drew attention to the inconsistency in the decision-making process regarding the withdrawal of the closure decision related to Istanbul Bilgi University, stating that taking two completely opposite decisions within 48 hours creates a serious trust issue for the state and the system.
Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu shared his assessment regarding the reversal of the decision to close Istanbul Bilgi University in a post on social media platform X.
"IT IS CORRECT THAT THE WRONG DECISION WAS REVERSED"
Stating that it was correct to reverse the wrong decision regarding the university, Davutoğlu expressed his well-wishes to students, parents, and academics who experienced great stress throughout the process, using the following statements:
"It was the right move to reverse the extremely wrong decision regarding Bilgi University. I wish a speedy recovery to our students, parents, and my esteemed colleagues, the academics, who experienced great stress before the final exams. However, the fact that two completely contradictory decisions were made within 48 hours is highly unsettling in terms of trust in the state and the system."
"A STATE LIVES THROUGH INSTITUTIONAL CONTINUITY"
The state is the guarantee of a predictable legal order, and the system is the functioning mechanism of this order. The closure of institutions overnight with a decision without any justification, followed by their reopening 48 hours later with another decision without any explanation, creates a climate of chaos arising from uncertainty in society. A state lives through institutional continuity. A state that condemns its institutions to discontinuity threatens its own survival."
