The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has made its decision regarding the foreign player rule to be applied in the Trendyol Süper Lig for the new season. The foreign player limit will continue as 12+2 for the upcoming season as well. The TFF has informed the clubs accordingly.
As the 2025/26 season in the Trendyol Süper Lig draws to a close, the foreign player rule to be applied in the next season has also been determined.
IT WAS STATED THAT IT WOULD BE APPLIED AS 10+4
The Turkish Football Federation had previously announced that the foreign player rule, which was 12+2 for this season, would be applied as 10+4 for the next season (2026/27). It was announced that the +2 rule in the foreign player regulation this season would be valid for players born in 2003 and later, and that the +4 quota in the new season would be applied for footballers born in 2004 and later.
NO CHANGE IN THE FOREIGN PLAYER RULE
However, it was reported that the Turkish Football Federation has decided not to make any changes regarding the foreign player rule in the Süper Lig for the new season. According to a report by the Sabah newspaper; it was stated that the 12+2 rule of this season will continue into the next season and that this decision has been communicated to the clubs by the Turkish Football Federation. Previous news reports had indicated that 18 clubs from the Süper Lig had requested the Turkish Football Federation to maintain the foreign player rule.
