In the 30th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, the capital city team Gençlerbirliği will host the Süper Lig leader Galatasaray at their home ground. Gençlerbirliği Club had announced the away stand ticket price for the challenging match as 5200 Turkish Lira, which sparked reactions from the yellow-red fans.

STATEMENT FROM GENÇLERBİRLİĞİ REGARDING TICKET PRICES

Gençlerbirliği General Secretary Hakan Kaynar made statements to Radyospor regarding the away stand ticket prices they set for the Galatasaray match.

"THERE IS AN ABYSS!"

Hakan Kaynar, stating that as Gençlerbirliği there is a serious income gap between them and the big clubs, said, "The financial situation should be discussed as much as the scores and the games. When we compare Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe's stand, sponsorship, and other revenues with ours, there is a mountain of difference. How are we going to be successful with these revenues? Football fandom is a love. Those who love from afar pay a high price. We love up close. A Galatasaray fan who loves football should be able to understand paying 5200 lira for a ticket when going to a Gençlerbirliği away match. There is an abyss between our revenues and the revenues of the big teams. The transfer fee Galatasaray paid for Osimhen is our entire budget."

"HOW WILL WE PAY THESE SALARIES?"

Continuing his words, Kaynar stated that the salaries of the club employees are paid with the obtained revenues, saying, "There is an abyss between the number of jerseys they sell and the number we sell. What's left for us is to generate income from these matches. 99 people work at our club. How will we pay these salaries? These people have families. Turkish football needs teams like Gençlerbirliği, Ankaragücü, and Eskişehirspor. Turkish football needs these clubs to survive. The team is in good physical condition. We respect our opponent. Their championship race does not concern us. We want to start an upward trend by defeating Galatasaray."
