In the İzmit district of Kocaeli, businessman Geylani Yenigün was shot dead by his business partner at the scene. The suspect then committed suicide by shooting himself. It was learned that the incident stemmed from a debt dispute, and Yenigün had served as a witness at the murder suspect's wedding.
In the İzmit district of Kocaeli, a person named U.Ö. went to the home of his partner Geylani Yenigün in the Yahyakaptan neighborhood, with whom he had a feud due to a debt issue related to ongoing transfer procedures.
FIRST SHOT HIS PARTNER, THEN HIMSELF
After an argument that took place there, U.Ö. fired at Yenigün with the pistol he had. Following the incident, U.Ö. went down to the garden of the complex and shot himself with the same gun, committing suicide.
RELATIVES FLOCKED TO THE SCENE
Upon the report of the residents who heard the gunshots, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Yenigün, who was severely injured, could not be saved despite all efforts at the hospital where he was taken after initial intervention. Upon receiving the tragic news, Yenigün's relatives rushed to the scene, while the bodies were taken to the morgue after investigations by the prosecutor's office and police teams.
HE WAS FOUND TO BE THE MHP PROVINCIAL VICE CHAIRMAN
It was learned that Geylani Yenigün, a father of two, who operates in the chemistry, entertainment, and construction sectors and is also a partner in a local newspaper, was appointed as the MHP Kocaeli Provincial Vice Chairman responsible for Media and Communication after joining the MHP Kocaeli Provincial Executive Board last March.
HE HAD BEEN THE BEST MAN
Furthermore, it was revealed that Yenigün had served as the best man at the wedding of U.Ö., who killed him, in December 2025. It was reported that the two worked together in the construction business. U.Ö. was reported to have started his commercial life in 2015 with the real estate and automotive sectors; after investments in construction and excavation, he entered the food and beverage and entertainment sectors in 2023.
