The injured deputy governor was taken to the hospital, and two people were detained in connection with the incident. While the deputy governor was suspended from his duties, the Governorship announced that a disciplinary investigation had been initiated regarding the allegations.

The incident occurred in an apartment building the previous evening. Deputy Governor Berat Kasımoğlu, who was at the home of a woman reported to work as a secretary in a public institution, encountered the woman's husband upon his arrival. According to allegations, the husband attempted to attack the deputy governor with a knife he took from the kitchen after seeing the scene.

The angry husband stabbed the deputy governor and then attacked his wife. Neighbors, hearing the screams and sounds of struggle coming from the apartment, reported the situation to the police.

After the incident, police teams detained the husband, who was alleged to have carried out the attack, along with another person said to be connected to the incident. Authorities reported that no official statement had yet been made regarding the incident and that the investigation was ongoing.
GOVERNORSHIP INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION
An announcement was made by the Ardahan Governorship regarding the matter. The Governorship stated that an investigation had been initiated regarding the allegations. The statement included, "As a result of the investigations conducted regarding Mustafa Berat KASIMOĞLU, who was serving as the Deputy Governor of Ardahan and was assigned as the Deputy Governor of Yozgat as of 05.03.2026;
In accordance with Article 125 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657, a disciplinary investigation has been initiated;
As a result of the relevant investigation, Mustafa Berat KASIMOĞLU has been suspended from his duties by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Articles 137 and following of the same Law," it was stated.
