A young fan watching the match with his father while wearing a Fenerbahçe jersey in the stand block where Gençlerbirliği supporters were located faced harsh reactions from some people nearby. Following the tension and pressure, the Fenerbahçe jersey was removed from the little child.
CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE STEPPED IN: INVESTIGATION AND DETENTION DECISION
As the incident reflected on social media and reactions grew, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been launched and a detention decision had been made regarding the incident.
The statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following: "In the incident that occurred during the Gençlerbirliği-Fenerbahçe Turkish Süper Lig match played at Eryaman Stadium in our province on 15/08/2026, where a small child's jersey was removed, an investigation has been initiated against the suspect under Law No. 6222 and Article 109/3-f of Law No. 5237, and a detention decision has been made."
FATHER DESCRIBED WHAT HAPPENED
Meanwhile, after the incident, the young fan's father made a statement on his social media account.
The father, stating that a police officer on duty at the stadium helped them during the incident, said, "May God be infinitely pleased with the Yunus police commissioner. I couldn't have gotten out of that crowd alone. He said, 'I am a father too, entrust him to me, don't be afraid.' He brought my son to me in police uniform and handed him over. What can one say about such people."
