The Turkish Diyanet Foundation has broken its silence regarding claims that losses were incurred in fund investments and that senior executives were dismissed for this reason. Rejecting the allegations that became a topic in the press and social media, the foundation stated that it has no financial resources in the funds for which a liquidation decision was taken. Arguing that the management change has nothing to do with the fund discussions, TDV announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against those spreading the claims.
The Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has published a written press statement regarding the claims that have recently appeared in the press and on social media that "the foundation suffered losses from its fund investments and that its senior executives were dismissed for this reason." Firmly rejecting the claims, the Foundation announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against those making unjust accusations.
"WE HAVE NO RESOURCES IN LIQUIDATED FUNDS"
TDV, founded in 1975 and operating in 149 countries, recalled that it is obliged by legislation to manage its cash assets in accordance with interest-free finance principles. In the statement, it was emphasized that the foundation has no financial resources whatsoever in the portfolio management companies or funds that have come to the agenda and for which liquidation decisions have been taken, and therefore no loss of value or damage is in question through these funds.
In the statement, which noted that the foundation's only fund investment is the TLK fund, which operates according to interest-free finance principles, it was stated that after the liquidation decisions in the market, the assets in this fund also began to be withdrawn in a controlled and gradual manner and directed to other interest-free channels.
"THE MANAGEMENT CHANGE IS PURELY A COINCIDENCE"
It was also stated that the claims that the TDV Director General and two Deputy Directors General were dismissed because of the fund issue do not reflect the truth. It was noted that the management change is an administrative process that has long been on the agenda of the Board of Trustees and that its coinciding with the same period as the fund discussions is entirely a coincidence.
LEGAL PROCESS INITIATED
The Turkish Diyanet Foundation, which gave a message of determination against unfounded news and posts, reported that legal proceedings have been initiated against those who reported the unjust accusations and slanders against the foundation as news and those who spread them on social media.
