According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, a sharp drop in air temperatures is expected in Istanbul by the weekend. The temperatures, which are above seasonal norms, will decrease to as low as 9 degrees by Sunday. While heavy rain is expected in the megacity throughout the weekend, mixed rain and snow will be effective in Thrace.

SNOW IS AT ISTANBUL'S DOORSTEP

On Sunday, temperatures in Edirne and Kırklareli will drop rapidly. Edirne will be 6, and Kırklareli will be 5 degrees. Mixed rain and snow are expected in the region on Sunday. It is anticipated that the temperature in the region will drop a bit more on Monday. The precipitation in the region will continue on the first day of the new week. With the dropping temperatures on Monday, the likelihood of snowfall will increase.

HEAVY RAIN IS COMING
