The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry published the updated list of counterfeit and adulterated products dated October 12. During inspections, the brands found to have seed oil in olive oil, offal and poultry meat in sucuk and lahmacun, and sunflower seeds and food coloring in baklava were exposed one by one.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has once again updated the food fraudsters list, which includes the inspection results for companies engaged in food imitation and adulteration. In the new list dated October 12, 2026, the detection of seed oil in olive oil, poultry meat and offal in sausage and minced meat, and food coloring and sunflower seeds in baklava drew attention.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues its food inspections without interruption in 81 provinces in order to protect citizens' health and prevent unfair competition. Teams that inspect businesses one by one continue to expose products and brands found to be contrary to and non-compliant with regulations as a result of laboratory examinations.

The Ministry shared the detected frauds with the public on its website under two separate lists titled "Foods That Endanger Health" and "Foods Subject to Imitation or Adulteration."

WHICH FRAUDS WERE COMMITTED IN WHICH PRODUCTS?

According to the latest list updated on October 12, 2026, serious non-compliances were identified in basic foodstuffs such as cheese, kashkaval, yogurt, butter, ayran, vinegar, baklava, sausage, pide filling, meatballs, lahmacun, olive oil, spices, and honey.

According to official inspection results, some of the prominent findings are listed as follows:

  • Olive oil and vegetable oils: In products sold with the label "Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil," it was detected that seed oils were mixed in and lower-quality olive oils were added.
  • Meat and sausage products: It was determined that mechanically separated poultry meat, offal (gizzard, head meat, tongue), and poultry meat were used in heat-treated chicken and beef sausages and in meatball and lahmacun fillings.
  • Spices and desserts: In thyme and sumac, foreign matter and food coloring; in pistachio baklava, in addition to food coloring, sunflower seeds were detected.
  • Dairy and apiculture products: While starch was detected in tulum cheese, imitation or adulteration was documented in flower honey.

Ministry officials emphasized that inspections and disclosure processes will continue resolutely so that citizens can access reliable food.

Here is that list shared by the ministry;
