CHP Chairman Özgür Özel criticized foreign policy and the government's steps at his party's group meeting. Özel reacted to claims about sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen, saying, "Sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen's deserts is not Turkey's plan, it is Trump's plan. No one has the right to use the Turkish soldier here."
New Party Chairman Özgür Özel spoke at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Özel said, "Sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen is not Turkey's business. Did we have such an issue until yesterday? Sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen is not Turkey's plan or program. Sending Turkish soldiers to Yemen is Trump's plan. It is serving the interests of Israel and America. Turkey must not be made a party to this war."
"TURKEY HAS NO PLAN REGARDING THE YEMEN DESERTS"
Speaking in this way, Özel continued his words as follows: "In such a situation, everyone should know that one who does not have a plan of their own is part of someone else's plan. Turkey has no plan or program regarding the Yemen deserts. No one has the right to be Trump's pawn, to be Israel's protector, to use Mehmetçik here. We will oppose it to the end."
"Trump has elections on November 3. He sleeps a few hours a night; our people don't even sleep as much as he does. They have tied the whole matter to Trump's existence, to the support he will give them in the elections, to the relationship with Trump making them stay in power here for another term. Whether Trump is there or not, Trump cannot save you from this nation's hands."
"THOSE WITH THE LOWEST INCOMES SUFFER THE GREATEST HARDSHIP"
Özel said, "Wherever we go, we listen to troubles. In inflation and food inflation, for months we have been either fourth or fifth in the world. We are in a worse situation than Haiti, Lebanon, and Kenya. Last week it was announced that in the European Union the food average, the food inflation average, fell to 0.3 percent. In Turkey it is 27.6 percent. There is a 90-fold difference between them. Thus, those with the lowest incomes suffer the greatest hardship from this situation. At every rally we hold, every time we take to the streets, we defend the rights of retirees. We promise to end this ungratefulness and make all retirees smile. Farmers are also at the point of rebellion. Crops remain in the field. Transportation costs have increased, the wholesale market is expensive, there are no laws to protect producers. In Rize, tea producers are crying; in the Aegean, grape and cotton producers are extremely regretful.
"PADDY PRODUCERS IN BAFRA ARE PROTESTING WITH THEIR TRACTORS"
In the Bafra district of Samsun, paddy producers are protesting with their tractors. Why? The producer has grown their paddy, they need to sell it; the state's duty is to announce the paddy price in the first two weeks of September. The price still has not been announced; every day, the paddy producers in Bafra are protesting with their tractors. Olive producers are in the hardest days of their history. From here, let it be an oath to Bafra, Rize, Gaziantep, Manisa, and Bursa that we will demolish the AK Party's dark order and establish a just and equitable order for you," he said.
"WE ARE ON THE SIDE OF THE VICTIMS OF THIS AFFAIR"
"We are facing a situation that has hit one out of every five families in Turkey," said Özel, speaking as follows:
"The severe crisis environment created by the fund heist continues; the burden is getting heavier and heavier. On the path opened by the government, the robbery of the century took place, in which members of the ruling party were involved. They seized the investments that citizens entrusted to the state. Two million people are victims, but worse, there are stock market victims whose voices no one hears, and we are facing a situation where the number of people affected by this reaches 5 million, and together with affected families, 10 million, 15 million, hitting nearly one out of every five families in Turkey. Who is involved in this? In the management of the fund companies, if you look for an ambassador, there is one; there is a chief adviser to the president, a member of the consultation board, a wealth fund manager, a former member of parliament. All the names, as many AK Party members as you can think of, are there. We are on the side of the victims of this affair."
