In the operation supported by drones in Pendik, Sultanbeyli, and Sancaktepe, 5 suspects were detained. In house searches, 1 kilogram 595 grams of marijuana, 1,420 narcotic pills, cocaine, weapons, and 97,100 liras in cash were seized. While 4 of the suspects were arrested, 1 was released under judicial control; it was determined that one of the wanted individuals had a finalized prison sentence of 20 years.
In drone-supported operations organized in the Pendik, Sultanbeyli, and Sancaktepe districts to prevent drug trafficking and capture suspects on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, 5 suspects were detained. While 4 of the suspects were arrested, 1 suspect was released under judicial control.
THEY WERE IDENTIFIED ONE BY ONE
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Sancaktepe District Police Department initiated work to prevent drug trafficking. Following technical and physical surveillance, it was determined that the suspects were trafficking drugs in Pendik, Sultanbeyli, and Sancaktepe.
THEY DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THEY WERE CAUGHT
Subsequently, on July 26, the suspects, tracked and identified from the air with a drone, were taken into custody: G.A.S. (23), M.A. (23), S.C. (38), C.K.U. (33), and M.B.D. (68).
During searches conducted at the suspects' homes, 1 kilogram 595 grams of marijuana, 1,420 narcotic pills, 4 grams of cocaine, 2 precision scales, 1 unlicensed pistol, 1 blank-firing gun, 50 cartridges, and 97,100 Turkish liras in cash were seized.
A CONVICT WITH A FINALIZED 20-YEAR SENTENCE WAS ALSO CAUGHT
Meanwhile, checks revealed that one of the suspects, S.C., was wanted with a finalized 20-year prison sentence. After procedures at the police station, judicial control measures were applied to suspect M.B.D., while the other 4 suspects were arrested.
