From the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş's camp came a firm denial of the statements made by CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı regarding Yavaş's political future, which suggested he would 'remain under the CHP umbrella.' In the official statement from ABB, it was emphasized that such a meeting between the two never took place, and it was stated that Yavaş's real agenda is potential operations against the municipal council and serving Ankara.
A response came from ABB to the statement by CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı that Mansur Yavaş "said he wants to continue pursuing politics under the CHP umbrella."
WHAT DID CHP SPOKESPERSON MÜSLİM SARI SAY?
CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı, who made statements to the press in recent days, stated that his communication with Mansur Yavaş was extremely strong and that there was no tension with the party headquarters. Sarı's main sentence that stirred political circles was his claim that they had met with Mansur Yavaş, saying, "He said he wants to continue pursuing politics under the CHP umbrella."
CLEAR CORRECTION FROM ABB: YOU WILL HEAR IT DIRECTLY FROM HIS OWN MOUTH
Immediately after Sarı's assertive remarks, a written statement was made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, denying these claims. In the statement, which was noted to be shared to accurately inform the public, it was emphasized that no meeting had taken place between Mansur Yavaş and Müslim Sarı regarding Yavaş's political future or any political decision he might make. The statement recalled Yavaş's stance, which he had previously expressed, that "When I deem it necessary, you will hear the announcement directly from me," and stressed that no words that did not come from Yavaş's own mouth should be reflected as a decision taken on his behalf.
YAVAŞ'S PRIORITY: "ASSEMBLY BALANCES AND OPERATION CLAIMS"
The most striking part of ABB's statement was the emphasis on the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Assembly. It was reminded that critical elections for vacant positions in the assembly would be held in the coming days, and it was stated that in a process where certain circles have raised "operation" claims aimed at changing the assembly balances to hand over the municipal administration to the AK Party, it is not appropriate to make Yavaş's political future a topic of discussion. The statement said that Yavaş's sole priority at this stage is ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of services to Ankara and preserving unity and solidarity within the assembly.
