As tensions rise in the region following Israel's attack on Iran, a queue of approximately 2 kilometers of trucks has formed at the Esendere Customs Gate between Turkey and Iran.
While the Israel-Iran conflicts, which began with Israel's attacks, continue; not only the two countries but the entire region is on alert.
TRUCK QUEUE AT THE TURKEY-IRAN BORDER
With the ongoing conflicts, many trucks have formed a queue due to the slow processing at the Esendere Customs Gate in the Yüksekova district for those wishing to cross into Iran or from Iran to Turkey. Especially during these months every year, there is usually a high volume of truck crossings, but the queue has lengthened even more following the Israel-Iran tensions.
"WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 3 DAYS"
Truck driver Adil Celili, who is waiting in line to cross from the Esendere Customs Gate to deliver his cargo to Iran, said, "We have been waiting at the border gate for 3 days. There is no internet connection, we cannot inform our families. Everyone is anxious. Our food is running out, there is no restroom. No matter what happens in the Iran-Israel war, we would sacrifice our lives for our homeland. If necessary, we would gladly fight for our state," he said.
Behmen Alipor, who stated that they are suffering here, said, "We have been waiting in line for 3 days. There is already a war between Iran and Israel, and this has affected us. We have problems with food and restroom facilities. Hopefully, these troubles will end soon, and we can return to our work. Otherwise, wars are bad for everyone," he said.
