In Maçka on August 11, 2017, Eren Bülbül and Gendarmerie Master Sergeant Ferhat Gedik were martyred by fire opened by terrorists after reporting that PKK terrorists had stolen provisions and showing their hiding place to security forces. Nine years have passed since Bülbül's martyrdom, which plunged Turkey into grief when his social media post 'Doesn't anyone say Eren, good thing you exist' surfaced before his martyrdom.

"I AM PROUD TO BE THE MOTHER OF SUCH A CHILD"

Ayşe Bülbül, shedding tears at the grave of her son Eren Bülbül, said, "For you, 9 years have passed, for me, 9 thousand years have passed. My child's day had ended that day. I am glad I gave my child as a martyr in this way, for his homeland, for his nation, for the flag waving above. The pain of losing a child is very hard. May God not give this pain to anyone. 9 years have passed, but it feels like 9 thousand years. What can I do? There is nothing I can do. I haven't forgotten my child for an hour, a minute, a second, and I cannot forget. My child was living his last moments at this time today. He is not alone on special days. Even when I go to bed at night, Eren is always in my heart, before my eyes. I carry my child's pain even while sleeping. He comes into my dreams. He comes to mind with the hardships and difficulties we endured. As a mother, I say; 'May Almighty God end me with those experiences' I am proud of my child's martyrdom. I am proud to be the mother of such a child. My mountain behind me is my children, but my pain never ends" she said.

"THEY REACHED MARTYRDOM TOGETHER WITH MY CHILD"

Ayşe Bülbül, also extending mercy to Master Sergeant Ferhat Gedik, who was martyred together with her son, said, "He walked a path with my child. They reached martyrdom together. May God grant both of them abundant mercy. I talked with him before they were martyred. They walked a path like uncle and nephew. With Eren's diligence, his assertiveness, his silence, his calmness, he seemed not 15 years old, but 30 years old. He was a cautious child. Even his step was valuable. I couldn't understand anything, I couldn't feel anything. While we were continuing our lives, my child flew away. I am glad I gave birth to such a child. Long live the homeland" she stated.

"I HAVEN'T LOCKED THE DOOR FOR 9 YEARS, MY CHILD IS WOUNDED AND CAN'T OPEN IT"

Mother Ayşe Bülbül, stating that she has not locked the door of her house for 9 years, also expressed her desire for the end of terror incidents in the country, saying, "I haven't locked the door for 9 years. I don't lock it because my child is wounded and can't open the door. If the terrorists inside come out, as a mother, I would be devastated and never recover. When the terror incidents end and there are no more martyrs, we take a deep breath. Hopefully, it will end" she said.
