EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced at the critical summit in Brussels that sanctions against Israeli settlers involved in attacks on Palestinian civilians in the West Bank have been officially approved. Emphasizing that "extremism and violence will have consequences," Kallas stated that a period of concrete action has begun, simultaneously announcing that Hamas leadership is also targeted with a new sanctions package.

The European Union has agreed to impose sanctions on Israeli settlers for violent acts against Palestinians. The decision was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

“VIOLENCE WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES”

Kallas, speaking during the EU Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Brussels, stated that foreign ministers approved sanctions against Israeli settlers involved in violence against Palestinians.

Sharing on her social media account, Kallas said, “It is time to move from a period of blockage to a period of concrete steps. Extremism and violence have consequences.”

NEW SANCTIONS ALSO ON HAMAS LEADERS

It was stated that the EU has reached a consensus not only on sanctions against Israeli settlers but also on new sanctions against prominent Hamas figures.

Kallas announced that EU foreign ministers also approved a new sanctions package targeting the Hamas leadership.

MIDDLE EAST TENSIONS ON THE AGENDA

The meeting in Brussels addressed the ongoing conflicts in Gaza, tensions in the West Bank, and increasing violent incidents in the region.

The EU's decision is considered one of the harshest steps taken against Israeli settlers in recent times due to attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank.
