European Stocks Close With Major Losses

European stock exchanges closed with major losses Tuesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 7.72 points, or 1.53%, to finish at 498.21.

The UK's FTSE 100 index was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 145 points, or 1.82%, to end at 7,820.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 260 points, or 1.44%, to 17,766 while France's CAC 40 fell 112 points, or 1.4%, to 7,932.

Italy's FTSE MIB dove 560 points, or 1.65%, to 33,393. Spain's IBEX 35 declined 160 points, or 1.5%, to close at 10,526. -
