After Cem Yılmaz had a heart attack and underwent angiography, attention has turned to a detail on the famous comedian's earlobe as his health condition improves. Noting that this line, which draws everyone's attention, is known as the "Frank's sign," Professor Dr. Kaan Yılancıoğlu stated that the relationship between this finding and coronary artery disease and cardiovascular risk is being investigated. Yılancıoğlu emphasized that the line alone cannot lead to a diagnosis of heart disease.
Famous comedian Cem Yılmaz was taken under treatment at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Hospital after suffering a heart attack. While it was reported that Yılmaz, who underwent an angiography operation, is in good health, the post shared by Prof. Dr. Kaan Yılancıoğlu drew attention.
DRAWING ATTENTION TO THE LINE ON THE EARLOBE
Prof. Dr. Kaan Yılancıoğlu pointed to the prominent line on Cem Yılmaz's earlobe and provided information about the finding known as "Frank's sign" in medical literature.
Yılancıoğlu, stating that the vertical line seen on the earlobe is called "Frank's sign," said, "This finding was first associated with coronary artery disease in the 1970s, and since then, its relationship with atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, and cardiovascular risk has been investigated in many observational studies."

Yılancıoğlu, noting that there are meta-analyses showing that coronary artery disease may be more common in people with Frank's sign, stated that possible reasons include vascular aging, microvascular changes, and loss of elastic tissue.
"DOES NOT ALONE LEAD TO A HEART DISEASE DIAGNOSIS"
Yılancıoğlu, particularly emphasizing that the line on the earlobe should not be considered a sign of disease on its own, used the following statements:
"Frank's sign alone does not lead to a heart disease diagnosis. It is seen more frequently with age and can also be present in healthy individuals. In other words, having this line on your ear does not mean 'you are a heart patient'; however, especially if there are other risk factors such as smoking, hypertension, high LDL, diabetes, or a family history, it can be a small reminder to assess your cardiovascular risk."
