In the reopened Gülistan Doku investigation after years, attention this time focused on the detained Mustafa Türkay Sonel and the suspect vehicle. The car, allegedly replaced with the same model, same color, and same license plate, was taken into examination as one of the most important pieces of evidence that could change the course of the case. Whether there is any trace or finding belonging to Gülistan in the said vehicle will be determined by the examination.
Details that horrify continue to emerge in the Gülistan Doku file, which was taken down from dusty shelves and reopened after six years. The thoroughly examined file has moved beyond an ordinary missing person case and is now being pursued under suspicion of murder. While Gülistan Doku's lifeless body has still not been reached, the then Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, was arrested for evidence tampering, and his son Mustafa Türkay Sonel was arrested for intentional killing.
HE SAID "I HAVE NO GUN" BUT ARMED PHOTOS EMERGED
Mustafa Türkay Sonel, who stated in his testimony that he had no weapon other than a "colorful bead-firing rifle," contradicted this claim with photos that emerged. In addition to Sonel's camouflaged and armed photos, pictures also surfaced showing a vehicle, allegedly his own, with numerous long-barreled weapons and ammunition in the trunk. Some photos also featured Sonel posing with long-barreled weapons.
THE CAR THAT WILL UNTIE THE KNOT
It was learned that Mustafa Türkay Sonel, arrested within the scope of the investigation, stated that he sold his vehicle during the period Gülistan Doku disappeared, and then purchased another car of the same model, same color, and even with the same license plate. This unusual change became one of the most critical elements raising suspicions in the file.
Authorities, evaluating that the said vehicle could play a key role in shedding light on the incident, have taken the car into detailed examination. In the criminal investigations to be conducted on the vehicle, it will be examined whether there are any traces, DNA findings, or materials linked to the incident belonging to Gülistan Doku.
