The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is not giving a break to food fraudsters who endanger public health. Products and companies found unsuitable during uninterrupted inspections across the country are shared with the public on the ministry's official website. While the list of products that play with the health of millions is updated, another horse and donkey meat scandal has emerged.
On the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, products that tamper with public health are listed under two different categories. One category includes "Foods Subject to Imitation or Adulteration," while the second category contains "Foods That Endanger Health." Both lists provide information such as the brands of the unsuitable products, the manufacturer, and the reason why the product is on the list.

In March, it was revealed that the roasted meat distributed to citizens at the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality's Soup Kitchen was horse meat. While the chip found in the meal helped uncover the scandal, it was determined that the meat used for roasting belonged to the champion racehorse Smart Latch.

While the repercussions of this incident continued, it was discovered that two more companies in Mersin were selling horse and donkey meat. It was disclosed that the minced meat and meat from Hakan Et Market and Hürriyet Et Market were from solid-hoofed animals.
