40-MINUTE TRAFFIC WILL DROP TO 8 MINUTES

Mustafa Çağlayan stated that there will be a major change in travel time after the project's completion. Çağlayan said, "Under normal conditions, without traffic, it takes 20-25 minutes to reach Ilıksu from the second makas area. With traffic, this time extends to 35-40 minutes. After the tunnels are completed, this time will drop to 7-8 minutes."

The new road is also expected to:

  • Reduce environmental pollution
  • Lower emissions
  • Provide fuel savings

"THE CITY'S FACE WILL CHANGE"

Çağlayan stated that the different level intersections and tunnels within the project will make significant contributions to the region and expressed that the ring road will create a transformation effect in the city. Çağlayan said, "The areas the highway passes through and the junction points will also change and transform. This project is very important for Zonguldak."

FILYOS EMPHASIS: TRADE VOLUME WILL INCREASE

Çağlayan noted that the ring road, along with the Filyos Port and natural gas projects, will also transform the region's economic structure. Reminding that daily natural gas production in Filyos is currently 10 million cubic meters, Çağlayan said it is planned to increase production to 20 million and then 40 million cubic meters in the coming years. It was stated that the new ring road will make significant contributions to national and international trade.

"WE NEED TO RE-PLAN THE CITY"

Mustafa Çağlayan also emphasized that Zonguldak needs to be re-planned together with this project. Calling for joint work among all institutions and organizations, Çağlayan said, "Together with our non-governmental organizations, our university, and all our representatives, we need to generate ideas to carry our city into the future."
