One person was killed and one injured in an explosion in a vehicle in St. Petersburg, Russia.

According to the Fontanka newspaper, a Russian soldier in the vehicle where the explosion occurred lost his life, and his wife was injured. Russia's Investigative Committee stated that one person died and one was injured as a result of a vehicle catching fire, and that an investigation has been launched into the incident.

The Investigative Committee did not provide information on whether the deceased was military personnel.

CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION UNDER INVESTIGATION
