The aggravated life sentence given twice to the defendant, who brutally murdered his wife with 39 stab wounds and his son with 49 stab wounds in Adana, was upheld by the Court of Cassation. In his final defense at the verdict hearing, the defendant had said, 'I am the real victim.'

HE MURDERED HIS WIFE BY STABBING HER 39 TIMES AND HIS SON 49 TIMES
The incident occurred on August 19, 2023, on the 9th floor of an apartment building located at 78101 Street, Toros Neighborhood, central Çukuropa district. In the early morning, Cem Suna, who went insane, killed his wife Deniz (43) by stabbing her 39 times and his son Alperen (16) by stabbing him 49 times. After the incident, Cem Suna was caught and arrested, and he faced the judge on charges of 'killing with monstrous intent'.
HE MADE THIS DEFENSE WITHOUT SHAME
Making his final defense before the judge in the sentencing hearing, Cem Suna said, "If I have stayed silent until today, it was because of my trust in justice. Everyone has given their verdict. I am the real victim. I am the one whose world has collapsed and whose family has been murdered. Whatever happened, happened to me. My wife and child are constantly before my eyes. Even if I go out, nothing will change."
On October 15, 2024, Cem Suna's sentencing hearing was held at the Adana 12th Heavy Penal Court. In the sentencing hearing, Cem Suna was given two aggravated life sentences.
THE COURT OF CASSATION UPHELD THE DECISION
Suna's lawyers appealed the decision to the Court of Cassation. However, the Court of Cassation, without making any reduction in the sentence, upheld the two aggravated life sentences.
