The suspect, who injured his wife and mother-in-law with a knife at his home in the Alanya district of Antalya, then climbed to the roof of a nearby building and attempted suicide, was detained after approximately 4 hours of persuasion efforts and was arrested by the court he was brought before.
In the Kestel neighborhood of Alanya district in Antalya, a man named Mustafa E. wounded his wife and mother-in-law with a knife at his home for reasons not yet determined. The man then went to the top floor of a 5-story building located approximately 200 meters from the scene and attempted suicide.
PERSUADED AFTER 4 HOURS
Upon the report, gendarmerie, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. While security forces took extensive security measures around the area, efforts were initiated to persuade Mustafa E. After approximately 4 hours of negotiations, the man was brought down from the building and taken into custody.
LIVE-STREAMED THE SUICIDE ATTEMPT
During the incident, Mustafa E. had opened a live broadcast on his social media account and said, "I am on the 4th floor of a construction company in Alanya right now. I will commit suicide shortly. I shot my wife this morning. I have cleansed my honor, I don't know what happened. Forgive me. I am an honorable, dignified man. Forgive me. I will commit suicide shortly. Take care of my children. I have 5 children, they will be orphans."
SENT TO PRISON
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the gendarmerie regarding the incident, Mustafa E., who was taken into custody, was referred to the Alanya Courthouse in the morning. After his statement at the prosecutor's office, Mustafa E. was brought before the judge with a request for arrest and was arrested by the court and sent to Alanya L-Type Closed Penal Institution.
