The voice artist, composer, lyricist, and film actor Ferdi Tayfur had a large fan base not only for his 9 Golden Record Awards won with his songs but also for his acting in films.

MASTER ARTIST PASSED AWAY

The 79-year-old master artist Ferdi Tayfur, who fell ill at his home in Marmaris on December 15 and was transferred to a private hospital in the district and later to Antalya, passed away in the hospital where he was being treated. Tayfur's death has plunged the art and political world into mourning.

FERDI TAYFUR'S FANS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL

Fans of the legendary figure of Arabesque music flocked to the hospital upon hearing the news of his passing. One fan read the Quran for Ferdi Tayfur in front of the hospital.

A citizen expressing their deep sadness said, "We came crying on the road. I am very sad that we lost such a voice. May our nation's head be healthy."

HE WAS RECEIVING TREATMENT IN THE HOSPITAL

The legendary figure of Arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, was hospitalized in Muğla after falling ill at his home in Marmaris in mid-December. Tayfur was transferred to this city by air ambulance at the request of the doctor from the hospital in Antalya where he had previously undergone a kidney transplant.

A STENT WAS PLACED IN HIS BRAIN VESSEL

It was reported that the 79-year-old artist had a stent placed in a brain vessel during surgery at a hospital in Antalya 15 days before he fell ill and was discharged. Ferdi Tayfur had received his son's kidney transplant in Antalya in 2020 after undergoing dialysis treatment for a while.

HIS DOCTOR MADE A STATEMENT

Dr. Asuman Yavuz, who made a statement regarding Tayfur's health condition, said, "Mr. Ferdi Tayfur was urgently hospitalized in Muğla last week due to low pulse. The doctors there were very helpful. Chief Physician Sumur Bey and Cardiologist Bülent Bey were very concerned. I thank our state for the e-health system; I saw all of Mr. Ferdi's films on Monday. With the last-minute interpretation of radiology, we detected an undesirable image in the sinuses. He was quickly brought in by military aircraft for intervention on that image."

TAYFUR MADE A STATEMENT FROM HIS HOSPITAL BED

Tayfur, in a statement from his hospital bed, said, "I am well thanks to you. By the grace of God. I have endured so much hardship, so much suffering. Not everyone can endure this. May God be pleased with you. Thank you. I am very well."

DETAILS OF THE FUNERAL CEREMONY HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

The details of Ferdi Tayfur's funeral ceremony have also been announced. Recep Ergül, the President of the Turkish Musicians' Rights Organization (MESAM), provided the following information in a written statement regarding Tayfur's funeral: "The first ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 12:00 PM at AKM by MESAM. Ferdi Tayfur's funeral will be taken from Emirgan Çınaraltı Mosque after the afternoon prayer following the ceremony at AKM and will be laid to rest at Yeniköy Cemetery. We invite all his loved ones and friends to the farewell ceremony to be held on Saturday, January 4, at 12:00 PM at AKM (Turk Telekom Opera Hall)."
