A question about no one from the series crew attending the funeral of Ece İrtem, who played the character Işıl in Kızılcık Şerbeti, was directed at producer Faruk Turgut. He responded, “I didn’t go either; I didn’t think I had enough of a relationship to go.”
Actor Ece İrtem passed away on June 15 at the age of 35. After the death of İrtem, who brought the character Işıl to life in the TV series Kızılcık Şerbeti, the series’ producer Faruk Turgut spoke about the actor on a YouTube program he appeared on. When asked why he did not attend the funeral, Turgut replied, “I didn’t think I had enough of a relationship with her to go.”
“A YOUNG DEATH, I WAS SAD”
Turgut, who said they worked with İrtem for about a year, drew attention to the actor’s work discipline and the character she created in the series. The producer said, “Of course I was sad, a young death. May God give patience to her family, it is hard at that age. She worked with us for nearly a year, she was very good. The set was also very good, she was disciplined, and she created a beautiful character as well.”
“I DIDN’T THINK WE HAD ENOUGH OF A RELATIONSHIP TO GO”
On the program, the question of no one from the Kızılcık Şerbeti team attending İrtem’s funeral also came up. After saying, “Where is loyalty to be found?”, Turgut noted that the ceremony being held in Kuşadası may have had an effect. Saying that if it had been held in Istanbul, people from the team might have attended, the producer said, “If you’re not doing anything, there is no point in going just to appear on camera.”
