In Georgia, allegedly businessman Feramuz G. had a woman named Yonca K., with whom he once had a relationship, sign a contract for a surrogacy process in Georgia. In official records, Yonca K. was listed as the mother of the twins born in Georgia.

Stating that she has no biological connection to the children, Yonca K. later applied to the court to have it determined that she is not the mother of the children.

DNA REPORT REVEALED THE TRUTH

In the forensic examination conducted as part of the investigation, it was confirmed by DNA test that Yonca K. is not the biological mother of the children. Following this, the young woman filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office against Feramuz G., who had shown her as the mother of the children in official records.

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a case was filed against Feramuz G. for the crime of "changing the child's lineage in a chain manner."

COURT ISSUED PRISON SENTENCE

According to the news by Neslihan Keskin from Milliyet; the verdict was announced in the case heard at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance. The court sentenced Feramuz G. to 1 year, 4 months, and 20 days in prison. Stating that there was no positive opinion that the defendant would not reoffend, the court did not suspend the sentence.

In the justification of the decision, it was emphasized that transactions related to lineage and population records are directly related to public order. The court stated that the contract made in Georgia cannot be considered valid in Turkey.

“IT LEFT ME IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION”

Yonca K., who testified in court, said that she did not give birth to the children and that the eggs used did not belong to her. Expressing that she suffered material and moral damage due to being shown as the mother in official records, Yonca K. requested the punishment of the defendant.

Feramuz G., on the other hand, rejected the allegations, arguing that he acted in accordance with the legal procedures in Georgia.
