FIFA's Club Benefits Program for the 2026 World Cup will fill the coffers of Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. In the tournament hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, clubs that send a large number of players to national teams will receive millions of dollars in payments from FIFA.
FIFA WILL PAY CLUBS A RECORD AMOUNT
FIFA distributed a total of $209 million to clubs during the 2022 World Cup. For the 2026 edition, this amount has been increased to $355 million. Under the program, which also covers the pre-tournament camp period, clubs will earn approximately $11,000 per day for each player participating in the World Cup.
GALATASARAY'S DAILY INCOME WILL REACH $121,000
According to a report by Milliyet, Galatasaray, with 11 players in the World Cup squads, is expected to generate approximately $121,000 in daily revenue. It is stated that the yellow-red club's income will increase with each stage their players advance in the tournament.
Meanwhile, due to the contract of loaned player Noa Lang ending on June 30, FIFA payments for the Dutch footballer after this date will be transferred to Napoli.
FENERBAHÇE'S INCOME COULD RISE EVEN FURTHER
It is noted that Fenerbahçe's World Cup revenue could reach higher levels. If the number of players competing in the tournament after June 30 increases to 12 for the yellow-navy team, the club's daily earnings will rise to approximately $132,000.
LOANED PLAYERS' SITUATION WILL BE DECISIVE
The report stated that if loaned players İrfan Can Kahveci, Sofyan Amrabat, and Dominik Livakovic continue their journey in the World Cup, FIFA payments for these players starting July 1 will be transferred to Fenerbahçe.
Conversely, it was noted that the removal of Mexican footballer Edson Alvarez from the list would not cause a significant drop in the club's total income.
WORLD CUP ALSO A SOURCE OF PROFIT FOR CLUBS
Every day spent in the World Cup will increase the income earned by clubs. Therefore, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will closely monitor their players' performance in the tournament not only from a sporting perspective but also from an economic standpoint.
