Fenerbahçe defeated Kasımpaşa 3-0 in the Ziraat Turkey Cup.

Fenerbahçe hosted Kasımpaşa in the first match of Group B of the Ziraat Turkey Cup. The yellow-navy team started the cup with a victory, defeating their opponent, who fielded a squad mainly consisting of young players from the U19 team, with a score of 3-0.

THEY WITHDREW FROM THE DECISION NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CUP

Both Kasımpaşa and Fenerbahçe had applied to the Turkish Football Federation before the Ziraat Turkey Cup matches, stating that they would not participate in the cup. After discussions, both clubs withdrew from their decisions. Additionally, the navy-blue team decided to field their U19 team in all cup matches this season.

KASIMPAŞA'S U19 HEAVY STARTING 11

Kasımpaşa, managed by coach Hakan Keleş, took the field with their U19 team against Fenerbahçe as a result of the club management's decision. The navy-blue team, which played with U19 in the match against Gençlerbirliği and won 1-0 to advance to the group stage, will continue this decision in all cup matches this season.

Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho preferred to rotate players in the Ziraat Turkey Cup match against Kasımpaşa. The Portuguese coach, who gave chances to players who had played more minutes, started the match with the following starting 11: Osman Ertuğrul, Osayi, Yusuf, Çağlar, Mert, Bartuğ, İrfan Can Kahveci, Szymanski, Kostic, Cenk Tosun, and En-Nesyri.

EN-NESYRI OPENED THE SCORING EARLY

Fenerbahçe took the lead just 2 minutes into the match. After receiving a pass from İrfan Can, Cenk, who broke through the defense, made a cross from the right corner of the penalty area when he couldn't find a shooting angle. En-Nesyri, the in-form striker of the yellow-navy team, scored with a header, putting his team ahead 1-0.

YUSUF AKÇİÇEK INCREASED THE LEAD TO 2

The yellow-navy team increased the lead to 2 with their young center-back Yusuf Akçiçek, whom Jose Mourinho praised. In the 27th minute of the match, Kasımpaşa's defense cleared a free kick taken by İrfan Can towards the penalty area. The ball rebounded and fell to Mert Müldür on the left side of the penalty spot. Mert quickly crossed the ball into the penalty area. Yusuf, who struck the ball with his left foot, found the net, making the score 2-0.

BARTUĞ DETERMINED THE SCORE

Fenerbahçe found another goal at the end of the first half. İrfan Can Kahveci carried the ball down the left flank and crossed it into the penalty area. Kasımpaşa's defense cleared the ball in front of the goal. Bartuğ, who was positioned just behind the penalty spot, shot with the inside of his right foot, finding the net in the 45+1 minute. This goal, which made the score 3-0, also determined the outcome of the match.
