A fire that broke out in a car dealership in Beşiktaş spread to 15 vehicles, causing approximately 100 million lira in damage, while teams are focusing on the suspicion of arson in the incident.
A fire broke out in one of the parked vehicles in front of a car rental company in Beşiktaş during the night. As the fire spread to other parked vehicles, it caused damage worth millions of lira. It was learned that the teams were focusing on the suspicion of arson while extinguishing the fire.
The fire occurred in a car parked in the auto gallery located on the ground floor of a four-story building on Barbaros Boulevard in Beşiktaş Balmumcu neighborhood around 04:30. The fire that started in the car spread to 14 other parked vehicles, growing larger. Upon notification, a large number of fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the police teams closed the street to traffic and took security measures, the fire crews began their extinguishing efforts.
TEAMS STRUGGLED FOR 1 HOUR
The fire was brought under control after approximately one hour of work by the teams and was completely extinguished after cooling efforts. 15 vehicles were significantly damaged in the fire. Additionally, the fire crews conducted cooling efforts on the building where the auto gallery is located. Meanwhile, crime scene investigation teams were also dispatched to the fire area.
SUSPICION OF ARSON IS BEING CONSIDERED
After the teams' efforts, it was stated that the cause of the fire is being considered as a suspicion of arson. In the fire, where 15 vehicles were engulfed in flames, the exterior facade of the four-story building was also partially burned, resulting in approximately 100 million lira in damages. Authorities have launched an investigation regarding the fire and the suspicion of arson.
