A fire broke out in the engine compartment of a 20-meter tour boat off the coast of Bebek Beach in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. While the 2 crew members on the boat, where flames rose, managed to reach the shore on their own, the fire was extinguished through intervention from sea and land by the Coast Guard and firefighting teams.
A fire broke out in the engine compartment of a 20-meter tour boat off Bebek Beach in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district for reasons yet to be determined.
2 PEOPLE WENT ASHORE BY THEIR OWN MEANS
Upon notification, Coast Safety General Directorate, Coast Guard, fire brigade, police, and health teams were dispatched to the area. The two crew members on board at the time of the incident left the boat by their own means.
EXTINGUISHED THROUGH INTERVENTION FROM LAND AND SEA
Coast Safety teams intervened in the fire from the sea, while firefighting teams worked from the shore. The fire was extinguished through the teams' intervention. No casualties occurred, but material damage was sustained on the boat.
TRAFFIC RETURNED TO NORMAL
The traffic congestion on Cevdet Paşa Street caused by the fire returned to normal after the firefighting teams completed their work.
