Following the magnitude 5 earthquake in Malatya, attention has turned back to the statements of seismologists. Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a striking assessment regarding the fault line where the earthquake occurred. Görür said, "The earthquake was on the EAF, in a region that had not been ruptured and had been previously affected."

According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), an earthquake with a magnitude of 5 occurred in the Battalgazi district of Malatya around 06:20 AM. Following the tremor, which was also felt in neighboring provinces and caused brief panic, a striking assessment came from Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür.

Malatya was shaken by a magnitude 5 earthquake in the early hours of the morning. According to data shared by AFAD, the depth of the tremor, with its epicenter in the Battalgazi district, was measured at 15.59 kilometers. Drawing attention to the situation on the fault line, Görür summarized the condition of the region in his post on his X (formerly Twitter) account with these words:

"An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred in Gülümuşağı, Malatya, at a depth of about 15 km. The earthquake is on the EAF (East Anatolian Fault), in an unbroken and previously affected region. Get well soon."
