MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli made a statement regarding the new party to be established by Özgür Özel. Bahçeli said, "From the 1 billion 815 million lira paid to CHP from the treasury in 2026, it would be ethical to transfer a share of the treasury aid proportional to the number of MPs who leave CHP and join the new party."
MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli responded to journalists' questions about the new party that Özgür Özel will establish.
Bahçeli answered the question, "A new party is emerging from within the CHP. Therefore, another topic of debate, besides how many deputies will leave, is how their assets will be shared. What is your comment on this?" as follows:
"A new party is emerging from within the CHP. The signals for this have been present for a long time, and various lists are being published in the public regarding how many deputies will leave. Some say 80, some say 90, but ultimately a new party is being established. Alongside this, another point of debate, as you mentioned, is how the assets will be distributed.
"THEY SHOULD GET A SHARE FROM CHP'S TREASURY AID"
If a new party is emerging from within the CHP and the assets CHP owns, such as buildings and official vehicles, remain with the existing party, then in such a situation; from the 1 billion 815 million lira paid to CHP from the treasury in 2026, it would be ethical to transfer a share of the treasury aid proportional to the number of deputies leaving CHP to join the new party."
