Following the school attacks that occurred in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, as a result of cyber patrol activities, 170 people were arrested in operations carried out in 81 provinces. Legal proceedings were initiated against a total of 1,369 people, 1,140 of whom were children.
Following the school attacks in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, 170 out of the suspects captured in operations conducted as a result of cyber patrol activities across 81 provinces were arrested.
CYBER PATROL AFTER THE ATTACKS
According to information obtained from the Ministry of Interior, after the school attacks, cyber crime units affiliated with the General Directorate of Security and the General Command of Gendarmerie conducted virtual patrols targeting accounts on social media that incite the public to hatred and hostility, engage in disinformation activities, and praise criminals.
As a result of operations carried out against the suspects, legal proceedings were initiated against a total of 1,369 individuals, 1,140 of whom were children drawn into crime.
170 PEOPLE ARRESTED
While 469 of the captured individuals were released under judicial control conditions, 170 people, including those who made provocative posts and were assessed to be linked to criminal organizations, were arrested, and proceedings for 39 suspects are ongoing.
During searches at the suspects' addresses, teams seized 1 long-barreled weapon, 97 rifles, 32 pistols, 44 blank pistols, 104 cutting and piercing tools, 2,367 cartridges, 436 mobile phones, and numerous digital materials.
Among those arrested as a result of the efforts was the administrator of a Telegram group named "TETIKCILER 34." 148 channels operating through a Telegram group named "C31K" were shut down. Access to 2,409 URLs was blocked, and legal proceedings were initiated against 297 account administrators who made posts with provocative content.
