A dispute broke out between former AK Party member Tunca Belde Municipality Mayor Ahmet Naci Aytemiz and another individual at a workplace in Ardeşen district of Rize. The argument escalated into an armed conflict that spilled onto the street. Aytemiz, who was shot, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. In the footage captured on a mobile phone camera, Aytemiz can be seen falling to his knees after being shot.

FORMER MAYOR SHOT IN ARMED CONFLICT

The incident occurred around 15:00 on Atatürk Street in Merkez neighborhood. Allegedly, a dispute broke out between Ahmet Naci Aytemiz (56), the former mayor of Tunca Belde connected to Ardeşen district, and a person named H.K. in a workplace. The growing argument turned into an armed fight on the street.

LOST HIS LIFE IN THE HOSPITAL

The person named H.K. fired at former Mayor Naci Aytemiz with a gun he pulled out of his waist. Upon notification, numerous health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Aytemiz, who was taken to Kaçkar State Hospital after the initial intervention, lost his life despite all interventions. While 2 people were captured in connection with the incident, efforts are ongoing to capture one more person.

INCIDENT CAPTURED ON CELL PHONE CAMERA

Meanwhile, Pazar Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated a judicial investigation into the incident. In addition, the moment of the incident was captured on a citizen's cell phone camera. In the footage, it can be seen that Aytemiz fell to his knees after being shot and a citizen tried to hold him.
