Former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli became a candidate for independent board member of BIM. His candidacy will be voted on at the general assembly on May 5, 2026, subject to the approval of the CMB.
Former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli has been nominated for independent board membership at BİM, one of the leading companies in the retail sector.
TO BE PRESENTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
According to the company's statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), in line with the board's decision and the approval of the Capital Markets Board dated March 4, 2026, the independent board member nominations of Pakdemirli and Karl-Heinz Holland will be presented for shareholder approval at the 2025 ordinary general assembly meeting to be held on May 5, 2026.
It is noted that Bekir Pakdemirli, who served as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry between 2018 and 2022, became involved in this nomination process after the required three-year waiting period following his departure from public office to take on a role in the private sector.
