While Iran struggles for survival under the grip of a 56-day war with Israel and the U.S., along with severe economic sanctions, the ultra-luxurious lifestyle of Sasha Sobhani—son of former top diplomat Ahmad Sobhani—in Europe has reignited debates about the 'privileged class within the regime.' Known on social media as 'Iran's Dan Bilzerian,' Sobhani continues to showcase a life filled with private jets, beautiful women, and lavish parties while the public grapples with poverty.

As Iran battles regional tensions and embargoes while fighting with Israel and the US, the ultra-luxurious lifestyle of Sasha Sobhani, son of former Venezuelan Ambassador Ahmad Sobhani, has become the focus of criticism. Facing charges of money laundering and illegal gambling in Spain in 2021, Sobhani challenged those who called him "privileged," claiming "I started from scratch."

EXTRAVAGANT LIFESTYLE ON DISPLAY

While the Iranian people struggle with economic hardships under severe sanctions that have lasted for years and the ongoing US-Israel war for 56 days, Sasha Sobhani, son of the country's former ambassadors to Gabon and Venezuela, Ahmad Sobhani, has drawn reactions with his flashy lifestyle showcased on social media.

IRAN'S DAN BILZERIAN

When Sobhani shared his life filled with private jets, sports cars, luxury parties, and beautiful women on his social media account, all eyes turned to him once again.

The 38-year-old rapper, described as Iran's Dan Bilzerian, rejected the "privileged child" criticism directed at him and called out to critics, saying "Go find the truly privileged ones."

ILLEGAL GAMBLING AND MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES

Iranian official authorities took action in 2021 against Sobhani, whose source of luxury life was questioned. The musician, whose extradition was requested from Spain, appeared before a judge in Madrid. Sobhani denied the charges of "operating illegal gambling sites" and "money laundering," claiming that his country had conspired against him due to his lavish lifestyle.

HE SAID "IF I RETURN, I WILL BE TORTURED"

Sobhani, who defended himself in court against the Iranian government's extradition request, argued that if sent back, he would face the risk of torture due to his lifestyle and political stance.

COMES FROM A PRESTIGIOUS FAMILY

With his country on the brink of war on one side and a millionaire lifestyle in European capitals on the other, Sobhani has turned into one of Iran's biggest political controversies.

Sasha Sobhani, who does not shy away from displaying his ostentatious lifestyle, has a father, Ahmad Sobhani, who served as Iran's ambassador to Venezuela (2001–2006) and Gabon (1995–1998). Between 2007 and 2010, he was the Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs of his country.
