AK Party Ankara Deputy and Chairman of the TBMM Foreign Affairs Committee Fuat Oktay made a statement regarding the targeting of civilian ships in the Black Sea. Stating that this situation is unacceptable, Oktay said, "All relevant actors, especially the warring parties, must implement concrete and urgent steps to ensure navigational safety in the Black Sea without delay."
The war between Ukraine and Russia continues with regional conflicts. Ships are being targeted in the Black Sea. It was reported that Turkish citizens were injured in the latest attack on the Turkish-owned vessels Yaşar and Nadezhda.

In this regard, Ankara Deputy and Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee Fuat Oktay made a statement on his social media account. Stating that targeting civilian ships in the Black Sea is unacceptable, Oktay noted that with the attacks on Turkish-owned vessels, the war has reached a dangerous dimension in terms of regional and global security.

Fuat Oktay, pointing out that the transformation of the Black Sea into a conflict zone directly threatens navigation safety, trade, and global food supply, used the following statements:
"Targeting civilian ships in the Black Sea is unacceptable in any way. The fact that our citizens were injured in the attack on the Turkish-owned ships Yaşar and Nadezhda has once again revealed the dangerous dimension the war has reached in terms of regional and global security.
The safety of civilian maritime transport is one of the fundamental principles of international law. The transformation of the Black Sea into a conflict zone directly threatens navigation safety, trade, and global food supply.
All relevant actors, especially the warring parties, must implement concrete and urgent steps to ensure navigation safety in the Black Sea without delay.
The safety of our citizens is our primary priority, and this is brought to the attention of all relevant actors."
