After the derby in which Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahçe 3-0 at home, both celebrations and unwanted incidents occurred in Antalya. A Galatasaray fan leaving a café after the match was stabbed and injured by another fan.
Mehmet A., a Galatasaray fan who was following the derby at a cafe in the Kültür Neighborhood of Antalya's Kepez district, was stabbed in the hip by a fan of the opposing team.
TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
Citizens who witnessed the incident reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. After initial medical intervention at the scene by the health team, the injured person was taken by ambulance to Akdeniz University Hospital. It was learned that Mehmet A. is not in life-threatening condition.
SUSPECT BEING SOUGHT
Police teams have launched an operation to capture the suspect who fled after the incident, and security cameras in the area are being reviewed. While crime scene investigation teams conducted a detailed examination at the cafe, police teams took security measures in the vicinity.
CELEBRATION ON CAFES STREET
Meanwhile, at the same hours, Galatasaray fans celebrated the victory on Cafes Street in the Kültür Neighborhood of Kepez district. Forming a convoy with their vehicles, the fans took a city tour, honking their horns for a long time. Holding Galatasaray flags, the fans celebrated the derby victory with chants and cheers.
Some fans participating in the celebrations were seen leaning out of vehicles waving flags, while other citizens recorded the moments with their mobile phones. Police teams took precautions in areas where celebrations intensified to prevent any negative incidents.
