A young person who climbed the approximately 200-meter steep cliffs of the historic Selinus Castle in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya was detected by police teams with drone support. The young person, persuaded by Deputy District Police Chief İsa Arı with the words "I will take you to the Galatasaray match," was safely brought down after hours of efforts.
A suicide attempt incident occurred in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya. According to the information obtained, citizens who saw a person named Recep Y. climbing on a steep point of the castle walls at a height of approximately 200 meters immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, numerous police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the region.
LOCATION DETECTED WITH DRONE SUPPORT
To determine the exact location of the person in the rugged and wide area of the castle, Gazipaşa District Police Department teams took action. As a result of aerial scans with drone support, Recep Y.'s dangerous spot on the edge of the cliff was detected, and teams were quickly directed to that area.

Gazipaşa District Deputy Police Director İsa Arı, who reached the person at the dangerous spot, spent a long time trying to calm him down. Meanwhile, the young man's older brother also went to him and hugged him, attempting to persuade him. During the persuasion efforts, Arı learned about Recep Y.'s passion for football and encouraged him by saying, "Life is worth living despite everything. Give yourself a chance, I promise we will go to a Galatasaray match together." Recep Y., whose resistance was broken by this sincere dialogue, gave up his action.
UNDERWENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Recep Y., who was safely brought down from the steep cliffs through the meticulous work of police teams, was handed over to the 112 Emergency Health teams on standby. After the initial intervention at the scene, he was taken to Gazipaşa State Hospital by ambulance, and it was reported that his health condition is good.
