Galatasaray faced Swiss representative Young Boys in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round. The yellow-red team, who fell behind 2-0 in the first half, equalized the score to 2-2 with the goals they scored in the second 45 minutes, but lost the match 3-2 with a penalty goal in the final moments.

OKAN BURUK WAS NOT IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk could not take his place on the bench in the Young Boys away match. After the Sparta Prague match, where the yellow-red team was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League last season, UEFA Disciplinary Committee gave Okan Buruk a 2-match ban. The experienced coach will also not be able to enter the bench and dressing room in the rematch match against Young Boys.
