Is being single a blessing or a curse? The question has different opinions among the public.

In the street interview we conducted in Bursa, different answers came from the public to the question "Is being single a blessing?". Many people expressed that being single offers a life free from responsibilities, while young people were advised not to get married. Those who mentioned the difficulty of time management in marriage stated that they had a more comfortable life while being single. On the other hand, there were also those who believed that being single brought loneliness and a spiritual emptiness.

MARRIAGE AND SPIRITUAL VALUES

Some citizens who participated in the interviews emphasized that marriage strengthens spiritual values and prevents adultery. Those who see marriage as necessary not only for this world but also for the afterlife stated that marriage is important in establishing order and sharing responsibilities. Especially those who believe that building a family fills the void in life stated that marriage is more beneficial in the long run.

BALANCING SINGLEHOOD AND FREEDOM

Another group argued that being single means being able to move freely and have a more comfortable life. Those who highlighted the advantages of being more free in work and social life stated that remaining single was the best choice for them. However, positive views about marriage were also included in the interview; it was stated that building a regular life with the right partner can make a person happy.
