A scandalous confession came from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. In Tehran, in favor of the regime's overthrow, Merz stated that there have still been no results from the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, saying, "We share most of the targets. However, with each passing day of the war, more questions arise. We are particularly concerned about the lack of a common plan to end this war quickly and convincingly."

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed concern over the lack of a joint plan to quickly and convincingly end the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, which have been ongoing for more than a week.

"WE SHARE MOST OF THE GOALS WITH THE US AND ISRAEL"

After meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis in the capital Berlin, Merz held a joint press conference. Stating that the US and Israel have been conducting attacks against Iran for more than a week, Merz said, "We share most of the goals. However, with each passing day of this war, more questions arise. We are particularly concerned about the lack of a joint plan to end this war quickly and convincingly."

"IRAN IS ATTACKING WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION"

Merz expressed that they have observed a dangerous escalation of tensions, stating, "Iran is attacking countries in the region, including our close partners and allies, without discrimination. We condemn this in the strongest terms. These attacks must be stopped immediately."

"AN ENDLESS WAR HARMS US ALL"

Stating that they are in full solidarity with partners in the region, Prime Minister Merz reiterated that "an endless war and the destruction of Iran's territorial integrity, state structure, or economy is not in the interest of Germany and Europe," adding, "A scenario like we experienced in Libya, Iraq, or other countries in the region would harm us all."

"WE NEED AN IRAN THAT IS NOT A THREAT TO ISRAEL"

Merz noted that such a situation would also affect security, energy supply, and possibly migration movements, stating that it would not bring lasting security and stability to Israel and other partners in the region, nor would it benefit the Iranian people who seek a good and free life.

Merz emphasized that the world needs a stable and viable Iran that will be part of a regional peace and security order where Israel and other partners are not under threat, Tehran abandons its nuclear ambitions, and does not support terrorism.

Stating that they are working with partners in this perspective, Merz conveyed that they are in contact with Israel, the US, Europe, and NATO partners in the region. In response to a journalist's question, German Chancellor Merz said he shares President Donald Trump's hope for a quick end to the war in Iran.

Merz expressed that if the attacks on Iran end quickly, a relatively rapid normalization could also be seen in oil and energy markets.

ISRAEL'S PLANS TO ANNEX THE WEST BANK

Regarding Israel's plans to annex the West Bank, Merz said, "I want to be clear here. The annexation steps discussed in Jerusalem will further complicate the two-state solution."

Emphasizing that the German government urgently demands the abandonment of such steps towards the so-called E1 area, Merz stated, "This would be a big mistake."

Merz noted that to convey this message, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul will go to Israel at his own request, highlighting the importance of delivering the message together as Europeans.

UKRAINE WAR

Touching on the Ukraine war, Merz stated that support for Ukraine must continue. "While other partners are withdrawing their capabilities from NATO's eastern and northern flanks, we are staying there," said Merz, emphasizing the importance of this burden-sharing.

Merz argued that otherwise, Moscow could be given the opportunity to weaken Ukraine and Europe, asserting that the Kremlin is monitoring what opportunities the attacks on Iran present. He called for Europe to be at the table in negotiations to end the Ukraine war, noting that he conveyed this to President Donald Trump during his visit to Washington last week.

When reminded that Trump was considering easing or lifting sanctions on Russia, Merz said, "In my view, there is no reason to consider easing sanctions on Russia. If we have to choose between sanctions or solidarity, our position is clear. We stand with Ukraine and are ready to endure this period if necessary. Support for Ukraine must not be interrupted."

Merz emphasized that they will continue to assist Ukraine in repelling Russia's war of aggression and in ending the conflict as quickly as possible.

NUCLEAR ENERGY ISSUE

Merz highlighted that he agrees with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's statements that Europe's past move away from nuclear energy was a strategic mistake, stating, "However, this has no consequence for Germany, as previous governments had decided to phase out nuclear energy. This decision is irreversible. I find this regrettable, but that is the situation."

Indicating that they are currently focused on optimizing existing energy policies, Merz stated, "We need to expand the networks. We also need cross-border cooperation."
