Gözde Şeker, the main news bulletin presenter who left Halk TV, was unable to appear on the "farewell broadcast" she announced last night during a live broadcast. Claiming that the channel management did not accept her insistence on saying goodbye to the audience, Şeker shared a farewell message on social media.

The main news bulletin presenter of Halk TV, Gözde Şeker, announced during last night's broadcast that she would be leaving the channel, saying, "Tomorrow will be my last broadcast on Halk TV."

SHE COULD NOT GO ON AIR: MY INSISTENCE ON SAYING GOODBYE WAS NOT RECIPROCATED

However, Şeker, who could not appear on tonight's broadcast, claimed that the channel management did not accept her insistence on saying goodbye to the audience.

In a statement on her social media account regarding the issue, Şeker said the following: "I have left Halk TV. Actually, as I announced yesterday, I wanted to say goodbye during the broadcast. But it was not possible. Just as I learned by chance that I would not be able to go on air, my insistence on saying goodbye to the audience was also not reciprocated. What can we do, that's how it turned out… For 3 years, we met with you on Halk TV screen, sometimes at the crack of dawn, sometimes until midnight. I tried to tell and convey the truth to you from the studio, from congress halls, from the earthquake zone, from the middle of the war, or from in front of prisons. I apologize to anyone I could not reach or fail to reach. Endless thanks to my friends with whom I fought shoulder to shoulder under the roof of Halk TV for these 3 years, and to the unique Halk TV audience who never withheld their support in difficult times as well as happy times. I most wanted to say goodbye on the screen tonight to be able to reach my voice inside prisons. Special greetings to Silivri, Edirne, Buca, Kandıra, Bakırköy, Metris. I ask those who have the opportunity to pass it on hand to hand. Thank you, goodbye."

3 MORE JOURNALISTS HAD LEFT HALK TV

Meanwhile, in addition to Şeker, journalists Seda Selek, Sorel Dağıstanlı, and Buket Güler, who were among the channel's on-screen faces, had previously parted ways with Halk TV.
