In a mosque in Elazig, serving condolence meals has been banned to ease the financial and emotional burden on the families of the deceased. Association President Selahattin Dogan requested that this practice be implemented in other mosques across the city as well.

CITIZENS WELCOME THE DECISION POSITIVELY

A noteworthy decision has been made regarding condolence customs in Elazig. At the Haci Osmaniye Mosque in Mustafapasa Neighborhood, a decision was made by the association to ban serving meals in the condolence area located under the mosque. The decision, made to avoid putting citizens who have lost a loved one in financial and emotional hardship, has been received positively. Mosque Association President Selahattin Dogan, stating that they want the decision to be implemented throughout the city, expressed that citizens have welcomed this decision positively.

"WE WANT THIS DECISION TO BE MADE IN OTHER MOSQUES AS WELL"

Dogan, noting that they made a decision as an association, said, "Our goal is for the benefit of people. We are here not to be a burden, but to lighten people's burdens. Our aim is for people's peace. When someone has a death in their family, they already have a wound, and on top of that, they worry about the food issue. Let people be at ease and not worry about meals. We made this decision for that purpose. We would like this decision to be implemented throughout Elazig. Most citizens have welcomed this decision well. This is the city center; there are restaurants and bakeries everywhere. Citizens who come here should read the Fatiha, drink their water and tea, and then leave. We ask this of the citizens. We want this decision to be made in other mosques as well. This is a place of mourning," he said.
