TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu announced that Vincenzo Montella will not leave the National Team. Hacıosmanoğlu also declared that the process for Turkish citizenship for the Italian coach has begun.
Turkish Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made notable statements regarding the future of National Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella. Hacıosmanoğlu confirmed that Montella has received many offers, but stated that the Italian coach will continue in his role.
“THE LEAD ROLE IS COACH MONTELLA”
Commenting on the success of the National Team, Hacıosmanoğlu emphasized the importance of the family atmosphere within the team. Stating that Montella has built a very strong bond with the players, the TFF President expressed that the players see the Italian coach as an older brother. Noting that love and respect are at the forefront in the national team, Hacıosmanoğlu stated that the greatest share of the success belongs to Montella.

Hacıosmanoğlu also spoke about Montella's Turkish citizenship process. The TFF President stated that the Italian coach told him, “I am not Italian, I am Turkish,” and announced that citizenship discussions have begun.
Indicating that Montella is planned to become a Turkish citizen before the World Cup, Hacıosmanoğlu said, “I would like him to be registered in the population of Of.”

Hacıosmanoğlu also revealed that Montella had received an offer from Roma in the past, and that the Italian coach consulted him to evaluate the situation. Hacıosmanoğlu said, “A coach who wouldn't go to Roma wouldn't go anywhere,” indicating Montella's commitment to the national team project.
