TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu announced that the turn has come for administrators in the betting investigation. Hacıosmanoğlu stated that new data regarding club administrators will be released next week.
Turkish Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu made striking statements regarding the betting investigation. Stating that the process will continue to expand, Hacıosmanoğlu said that new data regarding club managers will arrive next week.
“ONE-THIRD OF REFEREES ARE GONE”
Emphasizing that the betting investigation is necessary for the cleanliness of football, Hacıosmanoğlu stated that significant steps were previously taken concerning referees. Saying he has known about the dirt in football for years, the TFF President noted that approximately one-third of referees have been removed from the system due to betting.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?
Hacıosmanoğlu stated that the investigation process is entirely conducted through official data, adding that the TFF does not determine names on its own.
Hacıosmanoğlu noted that the TFF applied to the Ministry, and that data obtained from betting companies is analyzed, after which necessary actions are taken.
“DATA ON MANAGERS WILL ARRIVE NEXT WEEK”
In the most striking part of his statements, Hacıosmanoğlu spoke about the process concerning managers and announced that the investigation has moved to a new phase. The TFF President said, “It’s the managers’ turn. Data on managers will arrive next week,” making remarks that resonated widely in the football community.
Stating that the process is being conducted confidentially, Hacıosmanoğlu said the investigation file is progressing with the knowledge of only a few people.
MURAT ÖZKAYA STATEMENT
Speaking about Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya, Hacıosmanoğlu stated that the sporting aspect and legal processes are being confused. Hacıosmanoğlu said the TFF only considers the sporting dimension, while the prosecutor’s office evaluates separately under the Turkish Penal Code.
“THERE ARE OVER 7,000 MANAGERS”
Stating that the scope of the investigation is quite broad, Hacıosmanoğlu said that over 7,000 individuals, including managers who have served and left in the last 5 years, are being examined. The TFF President also emphasized that clubs should conduct their own internal cleaning.
