AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik gave a harsh response to DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları for targeting the government in her statement following the framework law accepted in the Parliament. Çelik condemned Hatimoğulları's remarks, stating, "An approach that embraces the words of the genocidal Netanyahu is the most shameful record that can be added to a politician's record."
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik responded via social media to the criticisms directed at the AK Party and the government by DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları after the framework law was accepted in the Parliament.
"TARGETING OUR PARTY AND GOVERNMENT..."
Drawing attention to the broad consensus achieved in the Parliament, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, "We reject the statements of DEM Party Co-Chair Ms. Tülay Hatimoğulları targeting our party and government. While a brand new era has opened in the Parliament with 467 acceptance votes, it is remarkable that the first statements of the DEM Party Co-Chair unjustly and groundlessly target our party and government."
"TÜRKİYE IS THE STRONGEST VOICE OF THE ALLIANCE OF HUMANITY"
Emphasizing Türkiye's clear stance on the Palestine issue, Çelik said, "Our President, our Cabinet members, our AK Party officials, all our cadres, and our nation oppose Israel's occupation of Palestine in the strongest terms, and we will continue to oppose this inhumane occupation. Türkiye is the strongest voice of the alliance of humanity."
"WE CONDEMN HER ADDRESSING IT BY EMBRACING NETANYAHU'S WORDS"
Calling on DEM Party Co-Chair Hatimoğulları, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik concluded his statement with these words: "We condemn Ms. Hatimoğulları for addressing our opposition to Israel's occupation of Palestine by embracing the words of the genocidal Netanyahu. No politician who is a supporter of the 'alliance of humanity' in Türkiye and the world would reference the genocidal Netanyahu's words while presenting their own thesis. Ms. Hatimoğulları must correct this statement. An approach that embraces the words of the genocidal Netanyahu is the most shameful record that can be added to a politician's record."
WHAT HAD HATİMOĞULLARI SAID?
In her first assessment after the process law was accepted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları had stated: "Everyone wants peace. On this issue, go out into the streets, hold out a microphone, and no one will say, 'I want war.' We all know what this war has cost this country. Look, today in Türkiye, we all know that the most fundamental conditions that convinced the state to come to this process are the developments in the world and the region. Could Türkiye not have been in a much better position in the region regarding peace, friendship, and inter-country relations? It could have been. But what always tripped it up? The Kurdish issue and the Kurdish problem tripped it up. It constantly kept this card alive on the table. Therefore, in many initiatives Türkiye would undertake here... many initiatives remained in its hands. The simplest example; for instance, when it said to Israel, 'Give up occupying Palestine,' Netanyahu turned around and said, 'Why don't you give up beating the Kurds,' he said, 'Give up killing them.' Ultimately, when you make the call for peace, as long as this problem in Türkiye continues, it has no effect. Think of it from every angle. Trade, cultural relations, diplomatic relations... From every angle. The economic cost of this is so high... I mean, a massive budget of approximately 3 trillion dollars, if I remember the figure correctly, has been spent in Türkiye."
