Israeli Police Commissioner Daniel Levi said that due to settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, the world views Israel as a 'rogue and murderer.' Additionally, the military dismissed a commander who conducted a ceremony alongside settlers.
Daniel Levi, the highest-ranking officer in the Israel Police, equivalent to the General Director of Security in Turkey, said that due to the violence committed by Israelis who seize Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank, the whole world views Israel as a 'rogue and criminal' state.
ISRAELI POLICE CHIEF WARNS NETANYAHU GOVERNMENT
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot, Levi, speaking in a closed meeting, issued warnings about the damage to Israel's image worldwide due to the violence and ethnic crimes committed by Israelis who seize lands in the West Bank.
'THE WHOLE WORLD SEES US AS ROGUE AND CRIMINAL'
Levi stated that a small group's sole goal is 'to attack Palestinians,' and added, 'As a result, the entire world views us as a rogue and criminal state; Americans are fed up with this situation.'
The newspaper did not clarify the nature of the meeting, nor did it provide information about whom Levi directed his statements to.
ISRAELI SOLDIERS HELD A CEREMONY WITH LAND GRABBERS
In this context, Israel's official television channel KAN reported on Tuesday that a field commander was dismissed by the military after soldiers were seen conducting a ceremony together with Israelis who seize Palestinian lands, about three weeks ago in the village of Kusra in the northern West Bank, where they had surrounded Palestinian-owned homes.
The outlet noted that the soldiers' appearance in a video at the ceremony with the attackers was interpreted on the international stage as support given by the Israeli army to violent Israelis who seize lands, rather than protecting the Palestinian civilians under attack.
